How I made new shoes
Thursday, March 22, 2007
In the 3 day shoe workshop, I learnt how to measure feet, cut out patterns on cardboard for perfect fit, and cut out leather ... [click photos to zoom in, then click the BACK button]
Then I learnt how to HAND SEW the pieces together, attach the 3 layers of soles, buff and grind to make them look professional ...
What do you think? Do you like my Aladdin's Slippers?? Click the 'Comment' link below to leave me a message :-)

Hi Teens I think they are FAAAbulous! I love them...how can I order a pair? It's great to see the process pics once can really appreciate the work that went into making them.
Anca
Anca - Glad you like them!
As for ordering a pair, these puppies took 25 hours of non-stop work - I'm not ready to go into production just yet :) but thanks for asking!

Those are too fabulous! I'm so excited to see you have a blog, I read your posts on the yahoo silk painters group!
Madame,
I've never doubted your creative energy. And it seems it's in full steam way back!!! Those slippers are gorgeous... What's coming next?? ;-)
Hey Marlys!
I need to clone myself haha I just don't have enough hours in the day to do everything I want :D
If these weren't so labour intensive, I would have made a few more pair ... and I have recently been looking into how to achieve that!
I can never find shoes I like which are as fabulous as these!!
Cheers
Teena!
